Heat treatment significantly improves the wood’s resistance to rot and stabilises its dimensions, so decking boards, fences and slats retain their original, straight form.

Thermally modified wood is suitable for all climates, requires little maintenance and does not need surface treatment. If left untreated with a UV-protective pigmented oil or similar, it greys attractively in sunlight. Only heat and water vapour are used in its manufacture, so it is completely non-toxic
