For sale: Okuma LB15 CNC lathe. The machine was purchased used; I have not put it into production or used it in my own production. The information below is based on details provided by the previous owner on 17 June 2026.

Condition and operation

According to the previous owner the machine operates and can still produce parts. It was used in production until the sale.

Notes:

• There is some play/accuracy issue on the X axis.

• Maintaining a 0.05 mm tolerance on the X axis has reportedly become difficult.

• Occasionally the machine has deviated by about 0.05 mm in one direction.

• Last summer it ran a batch of roughly 600 pieces with a 0.015 mm tolerance.

• During the last batch the machine sometimes started to vibrate.

• The X axis sometimes makes noise, but at other times runs completely quietly.

• According to the previous owner parts can still be produced, but machining parameters may need to be adjusted.

The previous owner reports no alarms that stopped machining during operation. Power save engages after about 30 minutes of inactivity; the timeout is adjustable. Programming errors have produced alarms, but to his recollection there were no other fault codes.

Chip conveyor

Contrary to the pictures, no chip conveyor is included.

Maintenance / repairs while with previous owner

According to the previous owner the following work was carried out while he owned the machine:

• A quick-acting fuse was installed in the electrical cabinet. The original fuse blew once; the quick fuse has not tripped since.

• The window was replaced once. The window is, however, cracked again.

• Gearbox oil seal replaced.

Tailstock / centre

The previous owner had tried to fit the centre, but it required adjustment which was not completed.

Included accessories

The following tool holders are included:

• Approximately 9 drill/boring holders.

• Outer tool wedges as shown in the photos.

• Finnish and English manuals, electrical diagrams and operating guides.

There is little else included. The photo shows one pallet-load of items.

Optional extras

Pneumatic automatic door, robot-ready (connectors visible in photos).

Transport / location

The machine can be lifted onto transport if required.

Summary

Okuma LB15 CNC lathe for spare parts, refurbishment or use by a buyer who understands the condition of older CNC lathes and can investigate the X-axis play/noise/accuracy issue. According to the previous owner the machine operates and can produce parts, but the X-axis issue must be taken into account for precision work.

The machine is sold as seen.
The Okuma LB15 is a well-known, widely used model with good availability of spare parts from both Okuma’s distributor and international suppliers of used and refurbished CNC parts. This makes the machine a good candidate for refurbishment, as a parts machine, or for a buyer experienced with older Okuma machines.
