Top-level safety for school-age children

The new-generation BRITAX RÖMER KIDFIX i-SIZE seatbelt booster has been developed together with leading car manufacturers to ensure child safety on the road. The seat features proven XP-PAD and SecureGuard technologies to protect against the effects of frontal collisions, while the new SICT structure protects the child in side impacts. Carefully placed ventilation holes improve airflow and help keep the child comfortably cool on longer journeys.

The booster’s removable seat cover is machine washable (delicate 30 °C, do not tumble dry).

The BRITAX RÖMER KIDFIX i-SIZE is classified for the 100–150 cm seat group and is suitable for children from about 3.5 years up to roughly 12 years old.

KIDFIX i-SIZE is a test winner (score 1.8) in the autumn 2022 Stiftung Warentest / ADAC child seat test in the 100–150 cm category. ADAC describes the KIDFIX i-SIZE as “the best child seat for older children”. KIDFIX i-SIZE was mainly awarded for its safety features, ergonomics, ease of use and good frontal and side impact results. The seat also scored excellent (1.0) in the impurities test.

KIDFIX i-SIZE was named Bäst-i-Test 2024 winner. The test notes, among other things, that KIDFIX i-SIZE is “a seatbelt booster that guides the belt extremely well” and that it is an “ultra-modern booster seat”. The KIDFIX i-SIZE booster is 100% carbon neutral. All greenhouse gas emissions from the product have been accounted for in the carbon footprint measurement over the product’s lifecycle, from raw material production through manufacture, packaging and transport.

Four advanced features:

• Redesigned seating area. The seat area has been reshaped in close cooperation with leading car manufacturers so that neck load can be reduced by up to 50 kg.*

• Comfort and practicality. Generously padded, comfortable fabric covers and strategically placed shell ventilation holes ensure the child stays comfortable for long periods. Because the KIDFIX i-SIZE is narrow in design, three seats can be fitted side-by-side in many rear seats. Headrest markings help parents find the correct height easily every time.

• SecureGuard helps protect the child’s sensitive abdominal area by adding a fourth contact point to the three-point seat belt. SecureGuard keeps the lap belt in the optimal position over the child’s pelvic bones and can reduce forces on the abdomen in a frontal impact by up to 35%** while still allowing the child freedom to move during the journey.

• Seat belt + ISOFIX. KIDFIX i-SIZE includes integrated ISOFIX connectors so you can attach the child seat to your vehicle’s ISOFIX anchorage points. The performance of the ISOFIX system combined with the vehicle’s three-point belts provides the best possible protection in a crash.

*The I-SIZE R129 standard aims to improve child safety in cars and reduce incorrect installations. In R129, crash tests are conducted with a test dummy equipped with 32 sensors instead of the traditional 4 sensors, and side impact is specifically included in the approval criteria.
