The barrel is made of polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

Complete delivery includes a durable snow-load resistant plastic lid with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine-aluminium stove, drain tap and outlet pipe. The tub is insulated. The base contains 45 cm of Styrox fill, so frost won’t reach the bottom to trouble bathers. The outer cladding is domestic heat‑treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish craftsmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to the smallest detail. We are proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same reliable process. The rim panels arrive at the factory long and are cut to size and assembled into a unit that houses the pre-glued Jackon insulation base from Sastamala and the maintenance-free PE plastic basin moulded by Pipelif from Oulu. Our experienced tub specialists drill the drain hole in the base, the heater holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tipped onto its side to fit the outlet pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered free of freight to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and firelighting equipment. The new owner should make sure the tub is level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice you only secure the heater to the level base with hose clamps, screw the heater drain valve closed and — job done, time to bathe.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded basin — also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, rotationally moulded PE basin is made by nearby Pipelif in Oulu. Their process forms the basin from plastic granules in a rotating oven for about an hour. After cooling, the basin is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort. The sides are not vertical: a wedge-shaped insulating air gap between the basin and the rim panels cradles the bather’s back. Our rims are on average higher than other manufacturers’, so taller bathers’ shoulders sit below the steam line and their necks stay warm. Seat comfort is excellent and legs don’t go numb thanks to the bench height.

Super‑efficient marine‑aluminium stove

The marine‑aluminium stoves in our hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove tolerates even seawater and works with both fresh and brackish water. Carefully selected materials make it a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat well; the heater’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass hatch lets you check the fire without opening the door. The heater package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap. If you want extra pipe, a chimney guard or a spark guard, see the accessory list.

Note that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine oxidises the alloy. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours and afterwards the water can be used for watering as it contains no additional chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water can form a slimy film on the basin rim, but active oxygen prevents this.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t have a frozen bottom even in frosty conditions. The 45 cm Styrox base prevents cold from reaching the tub bottom and helps keep the water warmer. A plastic lid is included to reduce heat loss significantly. A well-heated tub can be warmed again the next morning with a single load of wood.

Heat also comes from the Lunawood heat‑treated pine cladding that finishes the tub’s appearance. You don’t need to treat the pine; it will age to a beautiful grey. If you prefer to keep the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The plastic basin is low-maintenance because it has no moulded seams where dirt can collect. Remember to keep the basin clean when changing the water using normal detergents. More meticulous users can occasionally disinfect the basin, but please ensure wastewater is handled correctly.
