Mitsubishi Pajero, 2001, Vaasa

For someone who knows their stuff, a very capable short Pajero! A great substitute for an ATV and you won't have to get wet in bad weather.

The car has been driven on all kinds of tracks to the very end, so its condition reflects that — it rattles and bangs, with dents and knocks here and there, but it runs and climbs exactly where you want it to! Thanks to its lightness, short wheelbase and good turning circle it gets into some impressive places.

The car is in drivable condition (about a 40–50 km test drive) but will need work if you want it in top shape. Known faults from the test drive and visual inspection:

*Exhaust manifold gasket (?) leaks; at idle the engine fault light comes on (lambda values?) but it goes out as soon as you press the throttle

*Suspension knocks but it tracks straight; tyres wobble at higher speeds but it can reach legal road speeds

*Anti-roll bars removed

*Dents and scratches all over as you'd expect on a vehicle like this, including the roof where the worst have been roughly straightened.

Now the good bits:

Fitted with good-condition Allterrain tyres and a fairly new Runva winch with rope up front. All parts of the four-wheel-drive engage and work. The engine and drivetrain feel solid — no visible oil leaks, the engine pulls fine and there is almost no slack in the drivetrain, so mechanically it's surprisingly good for how it looks. Electricals such as lights, radio, electric windows and even central locking mostly work.

This is therefore a very promising project for someone who knows what they're doing!
