A red oil warning light came on while driving and there was a knocking noise from the engine. The vehicle was stopped immediately and the engine switched off. Towed to a workshop.


Diagnosis:

  • The engine had about one litre too much oil which smelled of diesel; new oil was put in and the oil pressure measured as 0. No metal was seen in the oil, and it was not possible to determine from which part of the engine the knocking came.

Undercarriage work was carried out a couple of weeks ago: rear springs, rear brakes, rear bushes of the front control arms, front anti-roll bar links and rods replaced. Left front shock absorber dust cover, air filter and pollen filter also replaced.


Bodywork in excellent condition, no rust anywhere. Small paint blemishes on the front bumper.

The car is sold for repair.

The vehicle is currently located in Kouvola. Winter tyres must be collected from Hämeenlinna.
