The barrel is made of polyethylene plastic, completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a stylish, snow-load resistant plastic lid with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine-aluminium wood-burning heater, drain tap and drain pipe. The barrel is insulated. The base contains 45 cm of Styrox fill, so this tub will not be affected by frost. The outer cladding is domestic heat-treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality workmanship.

The Classic Hot Tub from Hyvän Kaupan Paikka is manufactured in Finland down to every last particle. We are very proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same working method. The rim panels arrive at the factory as long material. They are cut to size and formed into an element into which a pre-glued insulation base from Sastamala made by Jackon and a maintenance-free PE plastic basin moulded to shape by Pipelif from Oulu are inserted. Our line’s hot tub experts drill the drain hole in the base, make the holes for the heater in the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tipped onto its side to install the drain pipe.

Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to its new happy owner, who only needs a garden hose, firewood and fire-starting tools. The new owner should ensure the tub is installed level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice the new owner only needs to attach the heater to the pre-positioned hoses with hose clamps, screw in the heater’s drain valve and off you go – into the bath.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded basin – also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, rotationally moulded PE basin comes almost from next door, from Pipelif in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are placed in a mould which rotates in an oven for an hour. After cooling the basin is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We have paid special attention to seating comfort in the basin design. The basin sides are not vertical; a wedge-shaped insulating air gap is left between the basin and the rim cladding to better support the bather’s back. Our tubs have slightly higher rims than many other manufacturers, so even taller bathers’ shoulders sit below the steaming water surface and necks stay warm. Seat comfort is first-rate and legs won’t get cramped in this tub, since despite the height the seat is not too low.

Super-efficient marine-aluminium heater

The marine-aluminium heaters included in Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW heater handles even brackish water: it is suitable for both fresh and marine water. Carefully chosen materials make the heater a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat very well, the heater’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass inspection hatch lets you check the fire without opening the door. The heater package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want extra pipe, a chimney guard or spark arrestor, see the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium as it begins to corrode the alloy. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active-oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water easily develops a slimy residue around the tub edges, which active oxygen prevents.

Easy maintenance with little effort

In the Classic Hot Tub you won’t suffer a frozen base even when the ground freezes. The 45 cm Styrox base insulation prevents cold reaching the tub bottom and helps keep the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic lid which significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated hot tub can be brought back up to temperature the next morning with a single load of wood.

Heat is also retained in the Lunawood heat-treated pine panels that crown the tub’s appearance as rim cladding. The pine panels require no treatment unless you want to keep the brown tone; left alone they age to an attractive grey. If you want to keep the brown shade, apply wood oil annually. Maintenance-free operation also applies to the plastic basin: without moulded seams dirt has nowhere to accumulate. Remember to keep the basin surfaces clean when you change the water. This is easily done with ordinary detergents. More meticulous users may occasionally disinfect their basin, but remember to handle wastewater correctly.
