"You'd think you can’t improve on perfection. The VMK20 Bluetooth noise‑cancelling headphones sold tens of thousands of pairs and received near‑universal praise from both press and customers, but development never stops. Valco listened carefully to feedback from VMK20 users and built a big brother for the popular model — the VMK25 headphones.

First, we refreshed the design with Finnish Ratamo Design. We aimed for a modern look while keeping the family resemblance, so there’s no reason to suspect VMK25s of being anything but proper headphones.

Because we don’t want wireless headphones to glow in the dark, both status LEDs are placed inside the earcup. That way you can be sure you won’t be noticed skulking about with them on.

A fun detail in the VMK25 is the magnetically attached colourful side panels that are easy to swap (and wash) so you can customise them.

The VMK20s were already finely tuned, so we improved the sound with new composite drivers for even better audio. The Bluetooth here is also Qualcomm quality.

We also invested in noise cancellation: these have a brand‑new ANC circuit supported by plush, sound‑damping memory‑foam cushions. ANC now also includes a transparency mode — silly in our opinion, but requested by customers.

Finnish design — Valco designer Lauri Lumme has improved the model so the VMK25 picks up less wind and suits more kinds of activity. We believe headphones shouldn’t glow or blink, so both indicator LEDs are inside the earcup. You can trust they won’t draw attention when you sneak about wearing VMK25s. We also made the side panels removable so they’re easier to keep clean, personalise and swap to match current social media trends. Ergonomics and quality — The repositioned headband adjustment gives a wider range of fit than before (helpful for both large‑ and small‑headed people). Overall a sturdier, higher‑quality construction with a lovely soft‑touch finish. Fit is firmer, materials feel a bit more premium, earcups are slightly roomier and the frame is even more durable.

Improved sound — The VMK20 already earned praise from audiophiles. New (larger and better) drivers enable top sound. Our audio guru Jasse “Jazmanaut” Kesti could hardly believe his ears when tuning these. The sound profile remains the familiar, studio‑neutral tone that Jasse has honed. Music sounds as it was mixed and mastered in the studio — well deserved title for our "sound worker"!

Excellent noise cancellation — A completely new ANC chipset reduces background noise even better. ANC also includes the now customer‑requested transparency feature: press a button and the headphones use the ANC microphones to let ambient sound through. Is that anti‑ANC? It’s handy for hearing announcements or — cheekily — listening in on your neighbour when they think you’re enjoying loud music. Ha‑ha!" – Valco
