ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged airborne particles to clump together; the larger, heavier particles then fall quickly out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air that are harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by many microbes — microbial toxins that enter indoor air as aerosols — form a significant health risk if they reach the lungs and then the bloodstream. Microbial toxins that do not mix into indoor air generally cause harm only via spores, which are the producers of these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When a unit produces negative ions in addition to ozone, performance is 5–10 times better than ozone alone, and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials such as upholstery and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles travel with inhaled air into the deep lung (alveoli) and into the bloodstream, causing serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation work especially effectively in an over‑pressurised building.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together produce compounds that effectively remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewer gases, smoke smells, bacterial and mould toxin odours, and stubborn cooking and tobacco odours.

    Ozone and negative ion treatment also remove fine particles and MVOC and VOC compounds from the air.

Indoor ozonation cannot be carried out while people are present, because ozone is produced in large quantities to destroy microbial spores.
