ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged airborne particles to attach to them and form larger, heavier molecules that quickly fall out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds that are very harmful when inhaled indoors. Toxic compounds produced by many microbes — microbial toxins — can cause serious health hazards if they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins that do not mix into the indoor air cause harm mainly via spores, which are the producers of these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation depends on high concentrations.

When a device produces negative ions in addition to ozone, the effectiveness is 5–10 times better than ozone alone, and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials like upholstery and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation work especially effectively in a positively pressurised building.
