Mercedes-Benz Vito, 1999, Kuopio

Just back from a trip (6,590 km to the Alps and back) — Vito registered as a camper. Leisure battery, inverter, DC‑DC charger and cookers were bought new six months ago. Adjustable vents in the roof and door. Coffee can be made conveniently with a standard mains coffee maker. LED strip on the worktop. Phone charging sockets (USB‑C and standard USB).

+ Powerful engine (110 CDI) — runs well. Fuel consumption has been 7–10 L/100 km despite brisk driving.

+ 1,500 W inverter with remote control panel. Easy to switch on and boil morning coffee.

+ 12 V 180 Ah leisure lithium battery (Kepworth) (max 1,280 W output).

+ Victron DC‑DC charger 18 A charges automatically only while driving, and only if the vehicle battery is full.

+ Rear storage boxes, awning (mounted on the side of the vehicle), roof racks.

+ Webasto (works well, has never caused problems).

+ Air conditioning (needs re‑gassing, currently weak).

+ Fold‑out bed frame, easy to make up. Sleeps two people side by side comfortably. Good mattresses.

+ Mains coffee maker, small gas cooker and grill.

+ Serviced within the last six months / 8,000 km: engine oil + filter, fuel filter, cabin air filter, gearbox oils, air filter.

+ New engine oil included (10 L) (not urgent to change, as the previous oil has not been used much).

+ Shower curtain (fits to the tailgate), 12 V water heater (operates from a 12 V socket) and 12 V shower.

+ External power inlet on the side of the vehicle, interior socket and chargers for the vehicle battery and leisure battery.

+ Tinted windows and curtains at the rear.

- Glow plug warning light sometimes stays on after starting. One new glow plug included. The fault may be a single glow plug or the glow relay. I have not investigated this because otherwise it runs and starts well.

I will add better photos soon. The central locking on the side door usually does not open the door, although it locks. No other known faults in addition to the above. Additionally, a 15 L compressor fridge can be purchased if desired.
