Jetta that has served the same family for many years — sold straight from regular use and ready to drive!

I have owned the car since January and driven it just over 5,000 km. It has not broken down, and even in Lapland's severe frosts (−35 °C) it started when the block heater and charger were connected.

There were front-end knocks when I bought it, i.e. some rubber parts have given way a little with age. The bearings on the left began making an unpleasant noise, so they were replaced, and the left lower control-arm ball joint was replaced at the same time.

The engine warning light is on (codes in the pictures). There is some intake-side leak, but it does not affect driving. From the auxiliary belt area there is an unpleasant whining about 10 minutes after driving, meaning a bearing there is failing — I replaced the tensioner but the fault remained, so another bearing is at fault. Gears slot nicely and the engine still has power. The left rear door does not lock. The LCD in the instrument cluster was damaged by the cold, so there are pixel faults (see pictures). From a distance the car looks very tidy externally, but up close you can see age-related paint changes and rust. Inside it is very clean — no pets have been transported and there are no odours. The oil warning light flashes intermittently, indicating oil pressure issues; I suspect a sensor fault. One hubcap is missing.

Overall impression:
Typical for this mileage and showing the expected start of corrosion. Pictures!
Inside the car is, in my opinion, tidy. The seats appear intact and the car has a fresh smell. Pictures!

Tyres:
Both tyre sets are on their own wheels and still have good tread depth. The winter-tyre studs are worn in two places. Pictures!

The car runs well and will take you where you need to go, but it needs gentle care or can be driven until the MOT expires.

I will sell this for whatever a fair auction offers — I no longer need the car and will let it go. Sold as described in the listing and any hidden or new faults are the buyer's responsibility.
