Mercedes-Benz 190, 1990, Kirkkonummi

Served six summers for me as a second summer car. Now it’s time for the next owner to enjoy it. This lovely car is not ruined by the miles. Photos were taken in summer 2025, but the car’s condition has not changed since then.

• I bought the car in 2019 in Germany at Techno-Classica Essen from a Swedish seller. Before me the car had one principal owner and three short ownerships in Sweden. Originally sold in Sweden by Philipson Ab, the Mercedes dealer.

• The sunroof works and does not leak. 5-speed gearbox (an option) and seat heaters. There is even an engine block heater (condition unknown).

• All inspection certificates from new are included, apparently with one possible exception.

• Museum-inspected and reclassified as a museum vehicle in 2021.

• Interior in very good condition throughout, one small crack in the left corner of the dashboard at the vent. The dashboard itself is otherwise intact.

• No visible DIY wiring or makeshift repairs in the engine bay.

• Windscreen is original.

• Service book well filled over time. From the Finnish period there are a couple of stamps and the oil has been changed a couple of times in between.

• Parts purchased in advance are included for the next service.

• Serviced July 2025; the rear brakes were extensively renewed at the same time.

In good running order, but not perfect. Known improvement points listed below:

• front brake shields (repair recommended at inspection)

• small rust bubbles under the paint on the front wings, inside the boot lid and likely elsewhere on close inspection

• rear slightly seeps, but no clear leak point was visible (repair recommended at inspection)

• surface rust on the underbody, advisable to address now while still easy

• front of the body has been repainted at some point. Paint surface looks good to me, but the shade differs slightly from the original

• in cold weather (below 5 °C) it needs some fiddling. Someone suggested the idle jet needs replacing. Another injection unit is included, condition unknown.

• there will certainly be various small and possibly larger issues as it is an old car. I cannot specify further as I am not a mechanic.
