"You'd think you couldn't improve on perfection. The VMK20 Bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones sold tens of thousands of pairs and received near-universal praise from both media and customers, but development never stops. Valco listened carefully to feedback on the VMK20 and built a big brother for the popular model — the VMK25.

First, we refreshed the design with Finnish Ratamo Design. We aimed for a modern look while keeping the family resemblance, so you won't be mistaken for the postman's kid.

Because wireless headphones don't need to glow or blink, both status LEDs are inside the earcup. That way you can be sure you won't be noticed while crouched in the bushes.

A fun detail of the VMK25 is the neat magnetic colourful covers that are easy to swap (and wash) and to customise yourself.

The VMK20s were finely tuned already, and adjustments alone wouldn't have made them better. That's why these have new composite drivers that deliver even better sound. The Bluetooth technology is also Qualcomm quality.

We also invested in noise cancellation: these headphones use a completely new ANC circuit supported by thick, sound-damping memory-foam pads. Noise cancellation now also includes a transparency mode — silly in our opinion, but requested by customers.

Finnish design — Valco designer Lauri Lumme improved the model so the VMK25 picks up less wind and suits more kinds of exercise. We believe headphones shouldn't glow or blink, so we placed both indicator LEDs inside the cups. You can trust you won't be noticed while sneaking around with VMK25 on. We also made the side panels replaceable, so they're easier to keep clean, customise, and swap to match current social-media trends. If you have a 3D printer, you can download free models for your own panels.

Ergonomics and quality — The repositioned headband adjustment gives a wider range than before (helpful for very large or very small heads). Overall the build is stiffer and of higher quality with a soft-touch finish. Fit is firmer, surface materials feel more premium, earcups slightly roomier and the frame more durable.

Even better sound — The VMK20 already earned praise among critical listeners. New (larger and improved) drivers deliver top-tier sound. Our audio guru Jasse "Jazmanaut" Kesti could hardly believe his ears tuning these. The sound profile remains the familiar studio-neutral one Jasse has honed: music sounds as it was mixed and mastered in the studio. The "audio workhorse" title is well deserved!

Excellent noise cancellation — A completely new ANC chipset reduces background noise even more effectively. There is now a transparency mode activated by button so you can let ambient sounds through.
