High-quality solid oak plank table top made from two 'planks' produced from 3.6 cm thick laminated boards. We aim to choose planks with similar tones, but as with natural timber some colour variation may occur between pieces. Each top is unique and no two are exactly the same, as the wood's colour and grain depend on growing conditions.

The surface is lacquered, so it does not require regular oil maintenance. The lacquer is applied three times with a water-based indoor matt lacquer. The top has a slightly brushed surface that highlights oak's natural characteristics and beautifully reveals the wood texture. Knots are a natural part of solid wood. Knots may have narrow cracks, which can be filled. The surface is not completely smooth; oak has a slightly coarse texture that can be felt when running your hand over the table. Because of this coarseness there may be small variations in sheen on the lacquered finish.

• Care / washing instructions: For cleaning wooden parts we recommend using a slightly damp soft cloth. If liquid is spilled on the product, always wipe it up before it dries. If necessary, dirty surfaces can be cleaned using a mild detergent or soap. Rinse and dry the cleaned area afterwards. Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning agents. Avoid corrosive substances and placing hot pans or similar items directly on the bare table surface.

• Material details: Oak is a very hard and durable material and therefore dense. This causes wood movement depending on humidity. In winter, in heated indoor air, the wood dries and shrinks; in summer the wood absorbs moisture and swells. This variation can be even 7–9 mm in a one-metre-wide top. The top may warp slightly in winter but will correct in summer and vice versa. This is a natural property of wood and cannot be completely eliminated. Small hairline cracks caused by wood movement are also typical for oak and do not weaken the top or affect its service life. Wood reacts to light within weeks or months and its tone will change compared with a new surface. This is a natural property and not a defect. Items left on the top may also leave marks, as the rest of the top receives more light.
