Highpower RX-8 — unfinished project up for auction. The engine has been rebuilt with better-condition chambers, rotors and eccentric shaft. New apex seals, corner seals and gaskets. Most hoses replaced with silicone ones, Omphen line routed from a separate oil reservoir (oil brick). A catch can has also been installed between the intake manifold and the crankcase breather hose. Race exhaust from Driftshop with a race catalytic converter; the original is included. Bluetooth receiver connected to the original head unit at the rear. Uninstalled extra gauge pod for oil pressure, oil temperature and coolant temperature. Studded tyres. Also a pile of old parts and a Wankel compression tester. Higher-output alternator

Body and paint are surprisingly good for the age. The engine has done about 1,000 km since the rebuild; compressions are OK and the car runs nicely, but it would benefit from an oil change. Small oil leak — possibly a condenser line is dripping. The car's oil pressure "gauge" drops to zero at idle — possibly a sensor fault, I haven't had time to investigate. It is safest to transport on a trailer for the sake of the bearings, even though the car starts and runs well. I see no reason it wouldn't pass inspection apart from resolving the possible oil pressure issue. Compressions are shown in the picture
