Well-maintained museum vehicle
Land Rover Series III 88" Station Wagon Safari, 1981. Beautiful original-condition Land Rover in excellent shape! Registered as a museum vehicle, next inspection August 2029. Same owner 1984–2018. 7‑seater. Marine Blue paintwork. Original 2.3 l diesel with manual gearbox and Roamerdrive overdrive. The body and frame are in good condition. Steering and drivetrain are precise with no play. Thanks to the overdrive the vehicle can cruise at up to 100 km/h. The roof can be removed quickly with just a few bolts, converting the vehicle into an open‑top car.
The Land Rover was put into storage in 1995 with 89,000 km on the clock. It remained in storage for 23 years until 2018.
Land Rover Series III was produced between 1971 and 1985 and is Land Rover's third generation. Changes were minor; the Series III used the same body and engine options as the preceding IIA model. Approximately 440,000 units were built, making it the most-produced Land Rover. In automotive history there are probably only a few vehicles that can rival the Land Rover's cult status. No one can deny its durability and off-road capability. Those who had heavy loads to carry off-road turned to the SWB (88‑inch) short-wheelbase version. The British third-generation model, known as Series III, was produced virtually unchanged for almost 15 years from 1971.
The car was serviced before winter storage in September 2025: all fluids were changed, the electrics were improved and it was fitted with BF Goodrich All-Terrain 235/85/16 tyres (odometer 97,777 km).
