When replacing the valve cover it was noticed that the timing chain is slightly rusty and would need replacing.

The car is not new otherwise, but apart from the chain replacement there are no major faults.

Externally I have noted a small dent and a small crack in a plastic part. Does not affect driving or use.

The driver's seat is stuck and does not move forwards or backwards.

There may be a problem with the bonnet spring or possibly the latch. The bonnet does not always close properly first time. It goes into the latch but does not fully close and a small gap remains. Sounds more like an issue with the spring.

In recent years brake pads and rear springs have been replaced. Replacing the timing chain was planned just under 2 years ago, but it was in decent condition then so it was not changed. At that time the chain tensioner, crank sprocket plate, camshaft bolts and valve cover gasket were replaced.

The gasket was replaced a couple of times in a short period after I noticed a little oil on one spark plug during a plug change; I assumed it was the valve cover gasket and had forgotten it had been replaced about 1.5 years earlier.

With a chain replacement this would make a nice little car for everyday use.

Two sets of tyres. Summer tyres are poor but should still be legal for one more season; for safety I recommend replacing them. Winter tyres (Nokian Hakkapeliitta) in good condition.

New Yuasa battery fitted on 25 January; the battery cost €250 so the cheapest option was not chosen to ensure the car starts in very cold weather.

Sell for repair as a usable car, or suitable to break for parts.
