All of the common faults on this car have been repaired, so there are thousands of kilometres left to drive.

Used daily.

Type faults and costly repairs carried out:

• Timing chains replaced; cylinder heads removed and machined at the same time.

• Valves ground and valve stem seals replaced; guides inspected as well.

• Fuel injectors bench‑tested; one was below spec and replaced with a new injector.

• Glow plugs checked and one replaced.

• Serpentine belt rollers replaced due to noise.

• Last year the oil cooler and all plastic hoses and seals were replaced.

• Total cost of repairs roughly €10,000 — I haven't calculated the exact total but receipts are available.
