ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause small, positively charged airborne particles to attach to them, forming larger, heavier particles that settle quickly out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also helps break down volatile organic compounds in the air that are harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by some microbes — microbial toxins that mix into the indoor air as aerosols — pose a serious health risk if they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins that do not mix into indoor air cause harm mainly via spores, which are the producers of these toxic substances.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When a unit produces negative ions in addition to ozone, its effectiveness compared with ozone alone is 5–10 times better and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials such as upholstered furniture and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation work particularly effectively in an over-pressurised building.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together create compounds that efficiently remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewer gases, smoke smells, bacterial and mould toxin odours, and stubborn cooking and tobacco odours.

    Ozone and negative ion treatment also remove fine particles and MVOC (microbial volatile organic compounds) and VOCs.
