ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged airborne particles to clump together; the resulting larger, heavier particles fall quickly out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the air, which are harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by many microbes that mix into indoor air as aerosols (= microbial toxins) can cause significant health harm if they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Microbial toxins that do not mix into indoor air cause harm mainly via spores, which are the producers of these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation depends on achieving high concentrations.

When a device produces negative ions in addition to ozone, its effectiveness is 5–10 times better than ozone alone and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials, such as upholstery and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles travel into the lower parts of the lungs (alveoli) and into the bloodstream and can cause serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation work particularly effectively in an over-pressurised building.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together produce compounds that can effectively remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewage gases, smoke odours, bacterial and mould toxins, and stubborn cooking and smoking smells.

    Ozone and negative ionisation also remove fine particles and MVOC (Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds) and VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) from the air.

Indoor ozonation cannot be carried out while people are present because ozone is produced in high concentrations to destroy microbial spores.
