Honda VF 700 Super Magna. Model year 1987. A somewhat rarer machine.

Imported to Finland in 2001. Driven approx. 101,646 km.

The odometer is in miles; the speedometer also shows speeds in kilometres. 4-cylinder, so suitably sonorous and with decent power despite being only 700 cc and shaft-driven.

Has seen many trips and once cost me my driving licence.


I have owned it since 2014. Last started just over a year ago and ridden a short loop in the yard. It has had little use due to other projects and bad knees. Last in use on the road in 2023.


Stored in a dry, cool shed over winters. There is no battery at the moment. Because it has stood unused it will likely need minor servicing before riding. Previously it has reliably started each spring after adding fuel and using a charged battery.


Left standing immediately after riding. The engine pulled well and no faults were noticed a year ago. It does not lose its fluids or oils.


Collection by trailer, as there is no battery fitted. Fuel tank empty.

Defects and other observations

Known faults/characteristics: an almost 40-year-old bike with wear visible everywhere. Stored since 2023. Started a year ago. Rear brake pads are low, or the adjustment is out of line. It stops, but slowly. Shown dirty in the photos; paintwork is aged, which has not bothered me.


Condition visible in the photos. Still a good bike for someone. Also suits a broader gentleman or lady. Wider handlebars were fitted a few years ago, giving a more upright and relaxed riding position.
