Arctic Hot Tub! No more lukewarm drinks in the water

Who wants to sip warm drinks from the tub? No one! That is why Hyvän Kaupan Paikka's tub designers have integrated flat surfaces with drink holders into the Arctic Hot Tub. The shelf is not only a waiting lounge for tub beers, ciders, lemonades and cocktails, but can also hold mood candles and lanterns. It also works great for children’s tub activities — between dives you can place goggles and pool toys on it. The shelf’s versatility is up to your imagination. The drink holes can even hold earrings or a smartwatch if you’re unsure about its water resistance. While you shouldn’t watch the time too much when bathing, it’s handy to glance at the phone resting on the shelf. Eight drink recesses are enough even for a larger bathing group.

Innovative design – the square‑oval shape

We decided to combine two attractive shapes and created a square‑oval for the Arctic Hot Tub. The shape is both practical and beautiful. It allows for shelves and adds character to the traditional round barrel tub look. Arctic Hot Tub suits the Finnish uprightness — but we’ve softened the corners so there’s no need to be stiff in the tub. Although the name is arctic, we recommend warming the water before stepping in.

User‑friendly, versatile Step In stair

You might not think one plastic step can do so much, but it does. We designed the Step‑In stair to suit the Arctic Hot Tub. It makes getting out of the tub easier, doubles as a small child’s seat so their head doesn’t sink, and works as a handy armrest — turning the tub into a cosy water armchair. The Step‑In makes the Arctic Hot Tub suitable for all ages and helps people with limited mobility. After a tough Finnish winter, tired limbs are easier to lower into the soothing warm water thanks to the Arctic Step‑In stair.

What colour would you like?

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s relaxed attitude shows in our tub range. We offer tubs for every need and taste. The Arctic Hot Tub can be customised to your liking: choose the plastic tub colour from five options and position the Step‑In stair relative to the stove. You may also pick the external cladding material from three options and choose the cover colour in black or grey. The colour palette is inspired by nature, offering shades such as sea blue and lichen grey. All finishes are compatible and work well together.

Arctic conditions – effective insulation

To live up to its arctic name, we wrap the tub in solid insulation! Under the plastic shell there is 44 cm thick EPS insulation that keeps frost at bay and the bathing water warm even in colder winter weather. We also add plenty of thermoplastic to the tub sides to insulate the rim. This highly effective tub retains heat so well that a well‑closed Arctic Hot Tub stays warm the next day. For the chilliest bathers, we recommend firing one load of wood the next day, but the tub is quick to be ready for bathing again. Prepare wood for the stove, swap any equipment, clean and fill tub drinks — then enjoy your bath.

Gentle heat, efficiently

Our efficient marine‑grade aluminium Arctic stove heats the water to bathing temperature in a few hours. 35 kilowatts of full power, the marine aluminium is durable and conducts heat well. The stove has a nice glass door so the wood‑fired tub creates a pleasant glow without repeatedly opening the door to check the fire.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s tub packages include marine‑grade aluminium stoves made in Finland. A high‑power stove does not fear sea water and is suitable for both fresh and seawater. Carefully chosen materials make the stove a top‑quality hot product. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap; for additional pipe, a chimney guard grille or spark guard, see the accessories list.

Note that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine oxidises the aluminium. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen disinfects the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can be used for watering plants as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Stagnant water can develop a slimy film on the tub rim, but active oxygen prevents this.

Care‑free plastic shell

The uniquely shaped and ergonomically designed shell of the Arctic Hot Tub is rotationally moulded polyethylene by Jaxal. This plastic has memory and retains the shape it was moulded into. The low‑maintenance, durable shell ages well, which is why we confidently offer a ten‑year warranty.

Because the shell has no moulded seams, dirt cannot collect in specific spots. Remember to clean the surfaces when changing water. This is easy with normal detergents. The most meticulous users may occasionally disinfect the shell — but please handle wastewater appropriately.
