The cleaning effect of an ultrasonic cleaner is produced by transmitting waves (invisible to the human eye) through the cleaning liquid. This creates thousands of tiny cavitation centres (microbubbles) that then burst under the effect of the same sound waves. The penetration of the microbubbles causes local, rapid pressure changes that dislodge dirt particles (fat, other impurities) from the surface of the item. With this method you can effectively clean all surfaces submerged in the bath without scrubbing or wiping the dirt.

When a suitable liquid is used, it is ideal for disinfecting all kinds of items.
