The cleaning effect of an ultrasonic cleaner is produced by transmitting waves (inaudible to the human eye) through the cleaning liquid. This generates thousands of tiny cavitation centres (microbubbles) that then burst under the same sound waves. The microbubbles' penetration causes local, rapid pressure changes that dislodge dirt particles (grease, other contaminants) from the surface of an item. With this method you can effectively clean all surfaces immersed in the tank without scrubbing or wiping.

When a suitable fluid is used, it is ideal for disinfecting all kinds of items.
