Uuno Johannes Särkelä (21 July 1903, Kemijärvi – 24 April 1978, Kemijärvi) was a Finnish painter.[1]

Särkelä's parents were Johan Oskari Särkelä and Augusta Ilola. His spouse from 1943 was Toini Suitiala; the couple had three children. Särkelä studied art first at the Tuusula Folk High School and then at the Finnish Art Society's drawing school in Helsinki from 1924 to 1927. He completed further studies in Paris on two occasions. His work was exhibited as early as 1928, and he held his first solo exhibition in 1942. Särkelä is regarded as a Lappish artist also because of his choice of subjects. He painted, among other things, the Pyhä fell area and the bogs of Lapland, sometimes together with his artist friend Aale Hakava. He also painted portraits and some abstract subjects. His only altarpiece is the work The Second Coming of Jesus, completed for Posio Church in 1953. He served as a secondary school teacher from 1966 to 1968. He received the Finnish Cultural Foundation's recognition award in 1964 and was granted a state artist's pension in 1973.
