Ion output requires an ioniser unit inside the machine. Ozone plates do not produce ions.

ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged particles in the air to attach to them. The resulting larger, heavier particle falls quickly out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air, which are very harmful when inhaled indoors. Toxic compounds produced by many microbes, mixed into indoor air as aerosols = microbial toxins, cause major health damage if they reach the lungs and enter the bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins not mixed into the indoor air cause health harm mainly via spores, which are the producers of these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When the unit produces negative ions in addition to ozone, its effectiveness is 5–10 times better than ozone alone and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials, e.g. sofas and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles travel with inhalation to the lower parts of the lungs (alveoli) and into the bloodstream, causing serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergy.

   Ozonation and negative ionisation work especially effectively in an over-pressurised building.

   Ozone and negative ionisation together produce compounds that can effectively remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewer gases, smoke smells, bacterial and mould toxins, and stubborn cooking and tobacco odours.

   Ozone and negative ionisation also remove fine particles and MVOC (Microbial Volatile Organic Compound) and VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) compounds from the air.

   Ozonation and negative ionisation produce pleasant indoor air that is easy to breathe and in which people feel comfortable.

   Ozone and negative ionisation together produce very clean indoor air also suitable for workplaces.

Indoor ozonation cannot be performed while people are present because ozone is produced in large amounts to destroy microbial spores. The combination of high ozone concentration and negative ionisation gives good cleaning results even in porous materials. After purification, the ozonated space is ventilated and occupants may return.
