A lively Q7 with a mildly upgraded 4.2 FSI engine


Q7 with a recent MOT and good extras.


Sport exhaust and a "bang" map allow the sounds to come through but do not hinder long-distance driving. Lower control arms were renewed at the MOT and a four-wheel alignment was carried out.


Two sets of tyres


A couple of common faults already fixed: oil filter housing seal and oil cooler replaced. Alternator and alternator coolant hoses replaced. Fluids, seals and the multi-ribbed belt also replaced.


There are items to address: MMI starts but shuts down after a short time; the bonnet is fairly stiff to open (the plastic handle has split for this reason). The air suspension empties itself in about two days and in freezing conditions does not raise the driver’s corner. When warm it raises every corner. It appears to have had a minor front-end impact at some point. One number-plate light is out. The car also shows a fault for the rear brake light. This did not affect the MOT because the light only operates when the tailgate is open.


Please note a "bang" map has been programmed into the vehicle and it is the buyer’s responsibility to make the car road-legal. The original catalytic converters are included. The exhaust contains "empty casings" in place.
