A Corolla Verso that has been used as a daily driver with us. The car shows age-related wear and some small dents around the body. The rear bumper is slightly split — see photos. The engine runs very smoothly. Unfortunately the service book is not present, but the car was serviced at Rinta-Jouppi from new until 2017 (electronic service records attached). After that, the previous owner’s mechanic changed the oil annually. The interior is generally in tidy condition. The fabric on the driver’s armrest is torn, and the window lock button does not stay depressed (the button itself still works). The car comes with a Stinger ski box. The ski box has two small padlocks whose keys are missing.

However, as life is not always perfect even with a Toyota (although usually it is!), this car has a minor transmission fault. When selecting D/E the transmission slips into neutral (N) and the car starts beeping. Reverse works normally. Manual gears work if the selector is flicked quickly through E to manual — so the manual side functions. A garage diagnosed the issue and said the gear selector should be replaced to restore normal operation. The engine warning light also comes on occasionally, but this does not affect driving.

Otherwise the car drives well and no other issues were found on a test drive.

Defects and other observations

On a short test drive we observed the following:

  • Minor gearbox fault: when the selector is set to D/E it drops to neutral (N) and the car starts beeping. Reverse works normally. Manual gears work if the selector is flicked quickly through E to manual.

  • The window lock button does not stay depressed, although the button itself functions.

  • Otherwise the engine runs nicely and the car is in reasonable running order.
