Small hatchback Pulsar for repair auction!


Let's start with the positives:


- Both tyres in good condition! Winter tyres from a certain racing legend — type Black Round Pirelli!


- Engine heater (function not tested)


- Cruise control (function not tested)


- Generally reasonably tidy! Small stone chips and light dents here and there, nothing unusual for the mileage.


- Interior reasonably spacious for its size!


Now the reason the car is sold for repair:


Direct quote from the mechanic's test-drive report:


"At higher revs above 3,000 it works and does not jerk. When accelerating from 80 km/h with revs between 2,000–3,000, as soon as the accelerator is pressed it starts to jerk quite strongly; during one acceleration the engine warning light flashed for a short while and then went out. Read fault codes: stored fault codes P0011-77 camshaft position A B1 CRNT and P0302-H8 CYL 2 misfire Past. Fault code P0011-77 refers to camshaft timing."


The variable valve timing solenoid has been replaced, with no effect. Further investigation is needed. The car came to us part-exchanged with a fault and we did not investigate further. A nice project for a DIY person.


The car is drivable, but longer journeys should be approached with some caution.
