⚠️ Diesel heater safety instructions

The diesel heater's combustion process consumes oxygen and produces hazardous exhaust gases. Incorrect installation can cause carbon monoxide poisoning or fire.

1. Exhaust routing (Main rule)

• Exit only: Exhaust gases must be discharged completely outside the building, tent or vehicle using a metal exhaust pipe.

• Sealing: Ensure the exhaust pipe connection to the heater body is sealed using the supplied clamp. Even a small leak into the interior can be fatal.

• CO alarm: Always install a good quality carbon monoxide (CO) alarm in the space. It is inexpensive life insurance.

  
  

2. Exhaust temperature and insulation

The exhaust pipe becomes extremely hot in operation.

• Max temperature: Diesel heater exhaust gases can reach up to 250–450 °C at the outlet depending on power. The metal pipe itself may glow hot.

• Penetrations: If the exhaust pipe passes through a wall or floor, use fire‑resistant insulation (e.g. mineral wool or a dedicated metal penetration sleeve). The pipe must not touch wood, plastic or other combustible materials directly.

• Clearance: Keep the exhaust pipe at least 10 cm away from all meltable or combustible materials along its entire length.

  
  

3. Combustion air and heated air

• Separate air intakes: Ensure the heater's exhaust pipe is not near the unit's combustion air intake or the heated air inlet. Otherwise the unit may draw its own exhaust back in.

  
  

4. Fuel handling

• Position the fuel tank so that in the event of a leak diesel cannot run onto a hot exhaust pipe.
