Ion production requires an ioniser unit inside the machine. Ozone plates do not produce ions.

ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged airborne particles to clump together; the resulting larger, heavier particles quickly settle out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air that are harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by some microbes, dispersed into indoor air as aerosols, pose a major health risk when they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins that do not mix into air cause harm mainly via spores, which carry these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When a device produces negative ions in addition to ozone, performance is 5–10 times better than ozone alone and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials such as upholstery and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles enter the lower lungs (alveoli) via breathing and can reach the bloodstream, causing serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation work especially effectively in an over-pressurised building.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together form compounds that can effectively remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewer gases, smoke smells, bacterial and mould toxins, and stubborn cooking and tobacco odours.

    Ozone and negative ionisation also remove fine particles and MVOC (microbial volatile organic compounds) and VOCs from the air.

    Ozone and negative ionisation provide a pleasant, easy-to-breathe indoor air; such a clean space is comfortable to be in.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together produce very clean indoor air suitable for workplaces.

Indoor ozonation cannot be carried out while people are present because ozone is generated in high concentrations to destroy microbial spores. The combined effect of high ozone concentration and negative ions achieves good cleaning results even in porous materials.
