Ion production requires an ioniser unit inside the machine. Ozone plates do not produce ions.

If the device you buy is claimed to produce negative ions, check that the unit contains the ion-producing component shown in the last picture.

ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause lightweight, positively charged particles in the air to clump together; the resulting larger, heavier particles fall out of the breathing zone quickly.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air, which are harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by microbes, mixed into indoor air as aerosols, form a significant health risk when they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins not mixed into the air cause harm mainly via spores, which are the producers of these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on achieving high concentrations.

When a device produces negative ions in addition to ozone, its performance is 5–10 times better than ozone alone and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials, e.g. upholstery and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles travel to the lower parts of the lungs (alveoli) and into the bloodstream, causing severe health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

Ozonation and negative ionisation remove harmful fine particles from indoor air and also bacteria, moulds, viruses and various gases.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation work especially effectively in a pressurised building.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together create compounds that can effectively remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewer gases, smoke smells, bacterial and mould toxins, and stubborn cooking and smoking odours.

    Ozone and negative ionisation also remove fine particles and MVOC and VOC compounds from the air.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation produce a pleasant, easy-to-breathe indoor air where people feel comfortable.

    Together they produce very clean indoor air suitable for workspaces.

Indoor ozonation cannot be performed while people are present because ozone is produced in large quantities to destroy microbial spores.
