Defects and other observations

During the test drive we made the following observations:

  • Drives overall smoothly and sprightly

  • The car was in everyday use with the previous owner, but the engine warning light comes on from time to time. From the receipts it appears the fault has existed for several years. At the time of photographing the engine warning light was not on, but it will almost certainly come back sooner or later. The car has been driven by our customer for several thousand kilometres. The car drives normally, and the engine power seems reasonably intact.


    The fault has been investigated and parts changed to a certain extent at the authorised service Länsiauto in Lahti; the timing chain kit and the engine control unit were replaced with new ones within a few months.


    The fault has not disappeared. Länsiauto's latest suspicion is that the engine warning light is caused by intermittently reduced oil pressure. When warm there is a secondary noise from the engine bay. Listen to the sound on the video.

    The last testing produced fault code P0011 — intake camshaft position system active – most likely caused by reduced oil pressure.

    On the last visit the sensors were tested crosswise; the sensors are OK.

    Mechanic's previous note:

    Oil pressure measurement 1.1 bar. It is not possible to say for certain whether the low oil pressure is due to the oil pump or through worn bearings. Possible next step is oil pump replacement (cannot directly measure whether the pump is the fault).


The vehicle has been test-driven by us and fluid levels checked. The vehicle has not undergone a technical inspection by us and not all equipment functions have been tested.
