For sale: Opel Astra estate, diesel from 2016. Still looks relatively modern with the newer front end; tidy overall for its age and mileage.

At this mileage the engine is still perfectly usable. It feels fine on the road and nothing worrying showed up. There is maybe a bit of timing-chain noise when cold, but I wouldn't be overly concerned about that.

Exterior shows age and wear, as you’d expect at this price:

• Minor paint wear, especially behind the front wheels on the sill (some peeling)

• Practically no rust, no typical rust spots often seen on German cars

• Windscreen intact, only small stone chips, no cracks

• Body panels intact

• No smell of smoke, dogs or other odours inside

The car is not a showpiece but a honest everyday car that will run for years.

Known faults / notes

• Right mirror glass detached

  • Electric adjustment works

  • Replacement mirror glass available cheaply, e.g. Motonet

• Electric tailgate:

  • Opens slightly when pressing the button but does not lift itself fully

  • The tailgate can be lifted and stays up when raised by hand

  • Can also be closed manually

  • Common issue — the pumps are tired

• Parcel shelf in boot missing

• Tyre pressure warning light in the instrument cluster

  • Sensors are present, tyres are OK

  • Reset was not done here; I don’t know the reset procedure for Opels
