Ion production requires an ioniser unit inside the machine. The ozone plates do not produce ions.

If the unit you buy is advertised to produce negative ions, check that the device contains the ion-producing component shown in the last picture.

ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged airborne particles to clump together; the larger, heavier particles fall out of the breathing zone more quickly.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air that are harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by many microbes — microbial toxins — form a significant health risk if they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins that do not mix into the air cause harm primarily via spores, which are the producers of these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When the device produces negative ions in addition to ozone, the effectiveness is 5–10 times better than ozone alone and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials, for example upholstery and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air present a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles travel with inhalation to the lower lungs (alveoli) and into the bloodstream, causing serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation work particularly effectively in an over-pressured building.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together form compounds that can efficiently remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewer gases, smoke smells, and odours from bacteria and mould toxins, and stubborn food- and tobacco-related odours.

    Ozone and negative ionisation also remove fine particles and MVOC (Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds) and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) from the air.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation provide a pleasant, easy-to-breathe indoor air that is healthy to occupy.

    Ozone and negative ionisation together produce a very clean indoor air suitable for workplaces.

Indoor ozonation cannot be performed while people are present because ozone is produced in high concentrations to destroy microbial spores. The combined effect of high ozone concentration and negative ionisation achieves good cleaning results even for porous materials.
