ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged airborne particles to clump together; the resulting larger, heavier particles fall quickly out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air, which are very harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by various microbes, dispersed into indoor air as aerosols, are a serious health hazard when they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Microbial toxins that remain bound to particles cause harm mainly via spores, which are the producers of these toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When a unit produces negative ions in addition to ozone, performance is 5–10 times better than ozone alone, and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials such as upholstery and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

    Ozonation and negative ionisation are particularly effective in an over-pressurised building.
