The device is simple to operate: once the felling direction is chosen and the required felling notch is cut, the wedge is inserted into the saw cut and the trigger is pressed. The threaded rod driven by the power tool pushes the wedge forward between the stainless steel lamellae, opening the saw cut and causing the tree to fall in the desired direction.

The mechanical felling director produces the force needed to fell trees accurately and with minimal strain on the faller. The safety distance must be twice the length of the tree being felled. A single 4 Ah battery can fell dozens of trees.
