This is a home-built windscreen-equipped boat together with a matching, trailer made from a Wartburg 311 chassis – a combination that turns heads on both land and water.

A combination born in our grandparents' garage.

Built at a time when things were made and repaired by hand and whatever was available was used – when things were done as needed, and unwittingly something lasting and durable was created.

Home-built, both boat and trailer are the result of genuine craftsmanship and the spirit of the era.

It is likely moulds from a Lohi boat were used when making this retro model.

The lines, windscreen and proportions breathe pure 1960s.

The trailer's story is another chapter.

Originally made from a neighbour's "shell" Wartburg 311 chassis into a trailer so the family's moving load could be transported from Sweden to Finland. In this millennium the trailer was later converted for this boat.

(Note: the handbrake lever is still attached to the chassis.)

Over the years the combination has been kept in good condition and updated for use – always respecting the original spirit.

The entire trailer has been gone through as follows:

Trailer registered in 1971 (HOME-BUILT)

Engine: Johnson 40 hp (approx. 30 kW), with remote control and electric start.

A 50-hp carburettor (approx. 37 kW) has been fitted to the engine.
