Avant log splitter, Pori

The splitter can be fed small logs by hand; larger ones are picked up from the ground by the machine, pre-split into up to 8 pieces and can even load them straight onto a trailer.

When hand-fed, output varies between 3–4 heaped motti (heittomotti) per hour provided the logs are fairly large (with a large Avant loader the speed is such that few operators can match the machine's feeding rhythm).

In pre-splitting the output is 4–5 heaped motti per hour, provided the operator can make full use of the machine's capacity.

The machine comes with spare sliding plates for the log pusher, which are almost the only wearing parts (the white parts shown in the pictures).

The splitter blades have been properly reinforced by welding afterwards and now hold up well.

The pre-splitting of the wood pile shown in the photo took 1 h 45 min.

It's hard to find a rival to this machine in terms of ease of use and efficiency.

I have myself split, with a 755 Avant, logs up to 80 cm (0.8 m) thick without problems.

Paid demonstrations with the machine are possible in Pori or the surrounding area.

Note that after the modifications made to the machine it no longer meets the approval required for CE marking (in practice the law requires all splitters to have a sheet‑metal guard — the "pömpeli" — for safety).

A clear written agreement regarding the above must be made with the buyer before a binding sale to transfer all related responsibilities to the buyer.

The machine is lightly used and otherwise fully functional and in good condition.

The type plate on the machine shows the year of manufacture as 2023.

In the Avant brochure the price of the machine frame is €2,118, plus the 6‑ and 8‑way splitting blades totalling €565, plus the modifications to the machine with materials and spare sliding plates €560 — total new purchase price €3,243.
