For sale: well‑kept, recently inspected — the ‘Mercedes of Japan’, Toyota’s top model, the Camry, in a later body style.

Originally a Finland‑registered car; history and documents available.

This is Nippon’s luxury model and it shows. The car is extremely spacious both inside and in the boot. There is room for five large adults comfortably and weekend luggage fits easily.

The interior is almost like new. The exterior is tidy for its age; rust repairs are visible on the arches (pictured) and were done satisfactorily. Not unsightly. Small surface rust spot on the boot (pictured). These are the only exterior negatives. The left front wing has had a dent (pictured) and the plastic of the left mirror is slightly scuffed (pictured). You won’t notice these unless you look closely.

The engine is one of Toyota’s toughest petrol units that won’t give up with driving. A 2.4‑litre four, you won’t wear this engine out by driving. It’s the largest four‑cylinder made, torquey and pleasant, and together with the manual gearbox gives low consumption (my average 6.4 l/100 km). Chain driven — no timing‑belt worries.

The car has good condition summer tyres on alloy wheels and comes with good studded winter tyres (studs intact, 7 mm tread) on steel rims.

Comfortable, big, roomy and warm — heats up quickly, a good winter car. In summer the automatic air conditioning keeps things cool.

The car drives smoothly and the interior is pleasant and airy; the captain‑style driving position gives a great view and both driver and passengers are comfortable. Seats are excellent with good adjustments. Interior smells clean — non‑smoker. Lights are good, not faded, good pattern and visibility at night.

The big engine ensures safe overtakes and a comfortable ride. Overall very reliable Toyota engineering.

Equipment includes electric windows x4, electric mirrors, central locking with key, boot and fuel flap operable from inside, automatic climate control, rear window heater, a well‑sounding and powerful head unit, trip computer, cruise control, towbar, two sets of tyres, two keys (the plastic part of one is worn), front and rear fog lamps, etc. — likely missed some items.

Recent maintenance (service book photographed):

Cabin air filter, spark plugs x4, replacement of outer CV‑joint boots within the last 2,000 km.

Starter motor May 2025.

A €698 receipt from a year ago for fuel‑tank piping work.
