Ion production requires an ioniser module inside the unit. Ozone plates do not produce ions.

ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air cause light, positively charged airborne particles to cluster together; the resulting larger, heavier particles fall out of the breathing zone quickly.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds in the air, which are harmful when inhaled. Toxic compounds produced by microbes (microbial toxins) mixed into indoor air as aerosols can cause major health risks by entering the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy microbial toxins that do not mix into indoor air mainly cause harm via spores, which are produced by these dangerous microbes.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When a unit produces both ozone and negative ions, the effectiveness is 5–10 times better than ozone alone, and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively also from porous materials, such as sofas and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles travel into the lungs (alveoli) via breathing and from there into the bloodstream, causing serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

Ozonation combined with negative ionisation cleans indoor air of harmful fine particles and additionally of bacteria, mould, viruses and various gases.

Ozonation and negative ionisation work especially effectively in a positively pressurised building.

Ozone and negative ionisation together produce compounds that effectively remove microbial spores and a variety of odours, for example sewer gases, smoke odours, bacterial and mould toxin odours, and long-standing cooking and tobacco smells.

Ozone and negative ionisation also remove fine particles and MVOC / VOC compounds from the air.

Ozonation and negative ionisation produce a pleasant, easy-to-breathe indoor air, which is good for people to occupy.

Ozone and negative ionisation together create very clean indoor air suitable for workspaces.

Indoor ozonation cannot be carried out while people are present because ozone is produced in high concentrations to destroy microbial spores. The combination of high ozone concentration and negative ionisation yields good cleaning results even in porous materials. After air purification, the ozonated space is ventilated and occupants can return.
