Purchased as a tow vehicle for a track team, but we concluded a B‑licence vehicle would be more sensible as not everyone can drive this.

Imported from Germany; according to Trafi first registered in 2019. Has been used by a cable company based on old logos. The service book was misplaced and the one that came with the car was a blank template, so we immediately did a timing-end overhaul including accessory belts, plus a major service and all oils and filters. Summer tyres on repainted rims — 2 newer ones bought recently and two good older ones. Winter tyres a similar set: two good older and two newer, studs still in good condition. We fitted a thick marine plywood floor in the rear and moved the seats approx. 40 cm backwards.

The paint has small rust spots here and there; the underside looks reasonable when inspected on a lift. In wet weather the paint looks better than usual. The largest colour differences were polished out in summer but the paint needs some attention. I tried to photograph all cosmetic defects; more photos available on request.

I have had the vehicle for about a year and ~12,000 km; most driving has been with a trailer or trailer board, major maintenance carried out:

• Timing-end overhaul when the vehicle arrived.

• Full major service.

• Alternator.

• Glow plug for cylinder 1.

• Injector for cylinder 2.

• Rear axle pinion seal with differential oil.

• DPF removed and cleaned.

• I change oil and filters approximately every 10,000 km, usually with cleaning agents or a flush oil.

Known faults:

• The exhaust began smelling in summer and was diagnosed as a leaking injector on cylinder 2. The injector was replaced but the smell returned in early winter; a tester shows cylinder 1 (leak -0.5) and cylinder 5 (leak -0.6, optimum would be about +0.5) are leaking slightly, which causes a sharp exhaust smell.

• For about a week it has shown fault codes P2BAC (Motonet tester has no description) and P0671 (cylinder 1 glow plug circuit open). It started during a DPF regeneration and is likely related to glow control when regeneration tries to heat the engine more than usual. Not fixed by replacing the glow plug.

• The passenger window switch button is broken; the switch works but the outer casing has come off. A new part has been bought but not fitted.

• The brake pad wear indicator regularly reports itself, but after purchase the pads were inspected and present, so it is likely a sensor fault. The warning has never been lit when the vehicle was towed.

• The lower edge of the right-hand rear door sometimes sticks; a couple of times the door had to be opened from the inside as the lock jams. Probably fixable by adjusting the striker.

• One rear seat belt cover has cracked. The belt works but the cover attached to the seat has split. Three new replacement covers are included.
