Quoting a previous owner => I bought the car myself a couple of months ago as a winter car. When I bought it there was a small technical fault that worsened during the first couple of weeks to the point the car became unusable for a while. I have since repaired the technical issues as far as I can and got the car roadworthy enough to drive to a new home / garage. I have driven it to work this week.

Overall the car looks tidy, but the engine has a mystery problem / problems.

The engine seems to run normally when warm at steady throttle and under acceleration, but runs poorly at idle.


The car's good points:

- Clean, tidy appearance

- Apart from the engine otherwise mechanically in good condition

- Goodyear studded tyres with 8 mm tread depth

- Many engine parts have been replaced recently for several hundred euros

- Rear engine and rear-wheel drive — rather exotic for a shopping car


The main technical problems are as follows:

- Uneven idle

- At idle the battery warning light comes on and the brake pedal becomes firm; these faults disappear when revs are raised

- There is a hole in the silencer

- Air conditioning does not work; the AC compressor seized and damaged the multi-rib belt which has now been replaced. The car can still be driven "normally" as the air-conditioning compressor has been bypassed so it no longer damages the belt, but the air conditioning does not work naturally.


I have replaced the following parts while trying to fix the symptoms:

- Starter motor

- Battery

- Intake air temperature sensor

- Pressure sensor

- Camshaft position sensor

- Variable valve timing solenoid
