During a short test drive we made the following observations
- The car cannot be test driven
- Requires engine replacement

- Workshop diagnosis: Camshaft bearing found to be loose already at another workshop.

Bearing supports for the camshaft are loose, especially at the front of the engine.

The engine oil smells strongly of petrol.

It appears the high-pressure fuel pump has been faulty, and

unburnt fuel has entered the oil so lubrication has been compromised throughout the engine.

According to another workshop the car had a fault code related to timing. This is very likely caused by lateral movement of the camshafts due to worn bearing supports.

--> It is no longer sensible to repair this engine because of poor lubrication.

The engine must be replaced.

The car has not been subject to a technical inspection by us and not all features have been tested. There may be latent faults that we did not detect on the test drive. You may inspect the car more closely before placing a binding bid. Please arrange your visit in advance, thank you.
