Ruska plank table 200x100 cm

Striking, rustic but above all durable, the Ruska plank table stays put even under a heavy load. The top is made from three sturdy pine planks combined with a robust steel frame for an appealing result. The top consists of three wide planks with a brushed and stained surface. The wood grain and pattern are clearly visible, so the surface is not even. The table pairs easily with different chairs and the set is complete. The legs are powder-coated steel, so the table is also suitable for outdoor use.

The Ruska table is a rustic-style dining table. The planks used are knotty pine, and natural cracks, knot holes, resin channels and heartwood marks are allowed. The planks have been machine-aged by brushing to create an uneven, rustic surface; brushing removes the wood’s softer parts (resin and heartwood areas) from the plank surface. Rustic characteristics are expected and natural for the Ruska table. Wood movement can cause shape changes and may cause cracks. Small hairline cracks are typical for pine and do not weaken the top or affect its lifespan or durability. Variations in resin content, heartwood and differences in wood density and composition between planks may cause colour and pattern differences in the tabletop — this is a natural feature of wood furniture. Colour changes over time are also natural. Cracks typically appear in winter as the wood dries and often close in summer when the wood swells.

Wood parts are first stained with a water‑resistant, water‑based stain. The surface is then treated three times with a water‑based, acrylic‑based varnish. Both treatments are intended for outdoor furniture but are also suitable for indoor use.

Wipe spills and stains from the top immediately with a clean cloth. Use a damp cloth with a neutral cleaning solution if needed (e.g. diluted dishwashing liquid). Dry the surface thoroughly. The top does not tolerate chemicals, hot items or caustic substances — these will damage the finish and may leave marks. If necessary, re‑treat with a water‑based outdoor varnish. Sand previously varnished surfaces back to clean wood (remove sanding dust thoroughly) or test adhesion on a lightly sanded area before applying new varnish. Wood oil is only suitable if the existing varnish is removed.

The bench top is made from durable and eco‑friendly pine. The top is made from two glued laminated planks using waterproof adhesive. The legs are painted metal, made of steel. The wood grain and pattern are clearly visible, so the surface is not even.
